About Venture Crew 1940

Venture Crew 1940 was a non-profit unit of the Boy Scouts of America program based out of Marietta, GA (as part of the Foothills District of the Atlanta Area Council) for young men and women that focuses on group activites like camping, hiking, outdoor activities, and other fun stuff (movies, mini golf, bowling, seasonal events, etc.).  The Crew met and was based out of Covenant Presbyterian Church, along with Boy Scout Troop 750.

The Crew was made up of youth members (those that fell between the ages of 14 and 21) and adult advisors (those over the age of 21). The adults provided support and advice to the youth, and ensure the Crew’s overall well being. The organization provided a great setting to gain leadership experience, participate in fun activities, and to make new friends.

Crew 1940 accomplished much since it's founding in 2006.  The Crew has hosted several activities and trips for it's membership.  In 2007, the Crew took an unforgettable to Walt Disney World.  In the summer of 2008, Crew 1940 ventured out to the Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron, New Mexico.  The Philmont trip also included side adventures to the Garden of the Gods, Manitou Springs, Pike's Peak, Rocky Mountain National Park, and the US Air Force Academy.  Other destinations (just to name a few) have also included: Cumberland Island, Sapelo Island, and Dismals Canyon.  Crew 1940 has also had a patrol participate in the local annual Scouter's Winter Campout (SWC) event for three years.  In additon to it's activities, the Crew has also hosted portions of Foothills District events and has completed several web-based videos, including 2007's The Match.
